4th Grade Scores

North Carolina’s, fourth grade reading scores are improving and are higher than the national average on the national NAEP exam. In 2015 North Carolina saw the largest point gain in the past 10 years, moving from a score of 222 to 226 while the national average remained flat. Additionally, our percentage of students performing at or above the basic level of reading increased from 69% to 73%.
These gains follow the implementation of Read to Achieve.
